I recently (5 weeks ago) had a lumbar laminectomy/microdisection at L5. The surgery was very successful and I'm close to pain free. I was a fitness runner before the surgery (surprisingly enough the running helped relieve my pain unless it was at it's worst). I ran 2.5 miles 4 days a week. I loved this running..it keeps me in shape, keeps my weight at it's best level ever and is great for me all the way around. Now I'm wondering if I can run again? I certainly do not want to reinjure myself but hate the thought of giving up running completely. Any advice? Thanks!
