I had a PLIF done 9/2002. I previously had a Lami & and Discetomy on the L5/S1. At this point, the surgery has reduced my pain level. You have to be realistic, you will NEVER be back to pre injury status. But, my life, so far, is a lot better after surgery. Research your doctor, and methods. Avoid a doc using "BAK" cages, they are round a have a bad track record. The new cages are rectangular and a made from carbon fiber. being rectangular, you have move surface area for the bone to bond to. Good luck, and due your "Due Dilligance" Kevin
