I know this inquiry was posted sometime ago but thought the information might still be helpful. Try running in chest high water. Do this on an underwater treadmill. Deep water movements where the feet do not make contact with the ground or surface can magnify any gait defect or dysfunction. The water will reduce the ground force impact and will supply a significant workout. If you are just starting out always consult with your doctor. Remember to take it easy at first and just walk. You can also incorparate an exercise program while in the water.
